“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” -Mark Twain
It’s the same old story, the wise adult tells the bright-eyed youth to “travel now, because once you get older it’s not as easy.”
I know plenty of 20-something year olds who tell me they wish they could travel and plan to as soon as they’ve got the degree, the job, the security and the “means”. Then there are the older folks who wish they could pick up and go but feel bogged down by their age, family commitments, work deadlines and mortgage payments. So, what are we really saying here? There is no good time to travel? I wholeheartedly disagree. In fact, I believe there is always a good time to travel…now! It’s just like anything you can try to plan for, waiting for the perfect situation, waiting, still waiting. All the while, life is passing you by.Travel comes in all sizes and shapes, with destinations in our own home state or across the world. With penthouse to hostel price tags, there is something and somewhere for everyone, at every single stage in life. Don’t wait for later or wish you could turn back time. Go now. Live now. Travel for you, now. Because today’s now is gone tomorrow!
