Visit the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island!

The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are both popular destinations for visitors to New York City.

The people of France gave the Statue of Liberty to the United States over one hundred years ago as a symbol of friendship. Since then it has become an international icon of freedom and liberty.

Ellis Island

Over twelve million immigrants entered the United States through the portal of Ellis Island. Today it serves as a museum educating about 2 million visitors a year.

The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are located on two separate islands in the New York Harbor. They are both accessed by the same ferry so seeing them in the same day is ideal. But be prepared for a long day of sightseeing!
